Poor Pictures engages with the materiality of posters; it is an excavation of left-behind fragments from the 32 affischeringstavlor/poster boards scattered throughout Gothenburg. The posters hung there, advertising gigs and cultural events, are perhaps an endangered species, their designs evolving and their colours becoming brighter in an attempt at survival in an increasingly absorbing digital world. These tiny fragments of posters collected from the poster boards have been enlarged to 100cm x 70cm poster-sized prints, printed on blueback paper. After being exhibited at a poster show at Galleri Format in Malmö, these Poor Pictures were returned to the poster boards in Gothenburg and reabsorbed into the city.
